*You Pick Up & Go* Kayak Rentals Only

 1. The base of Burgess Falls is property of Burgess Falls State Park; all of their park rules apply. Alcohol is prohibited at the bottom of the waterfall. While renting our kayaks please follow this rule and respect our State Park Policies. 

2. Per Army Corps. and State Park rules, drones are not allowed except with special permission, permit or in designated areas on the lake. For More information on Drone you can find that here:  Drone Policy 

3. Pick Up & Go Rental Sessions are Saturdays Only (unless special dates are added in to our calendar in green). 

Pick up rentals between  8:30 am cst- 10 am cst 

Return Rentals by 2:30 pm cst Same day

If you are not there to pick up your kayak within the pickup time frame, you will forfeit your reservation as a no show and will NOT be given a refund. 

4. Make sure you are prepared to be on the water for several hours and have enough snack, food and drinks with you for your planned time. We highly recommend closed toed shoes at any of the launches and while in the water. The water levels on the lake are brought up and down for flood control and a lot of the areas on the lake will have nails, fishing hooks, sharp trash and left over metal from powerhouses that operated on the lake where you are stepping in the water.
  
5. **VERY IMPORTANT**: Water levels are not always at summer pool where you can kayak all of the way to the waterfalls on CHL, there may be a hike up to the bottom after the paddle (This can be a short and easy hike, a moderate hike or a strenuous hike depending on the time of year and water levels). You will paddle as far as you can, park your kayak on the side bank and hike the rest of the way. This is a man-controlled lake so while we can give you an estimate of what to expect, always be prepared for a hike from at least August through the rest of the year. 

6. Please Leave No Trace: We even have a trash competition that you are welcome to participate in while renting as well. ( KAT Challenge ) We will provide the bags, you bring us the trash! We have made great strides, year-round to protect and preserve this lake, please do not throw anything into the lake including banana peels, orange peels, nut shells etc. It doesn't belong out there and nothing is going to eat it. Please protect our waterways and the ecosystem while visiting our waterways in Tennessee. If you brought it in, take it back out!

7. Center Hill Lake is an Army Corps of Engineers lake; do not take anything but trash from it. You cannot take rocks, drift wood, fossils, plants or anything else from the lake. This is a violation of their rules and regulations and you could be fined if found in possession of anything from the lake. We take this very seriously.

8. We do not have Water Moccasins aka Cotton Mouths in our area!  No matter where you are on Center Hill Lake more than likely you will see several Non-Venomous Common water snakes. They live in/around the water and eat fish; they want nothing to do with you. You are a very large predator to them! Leave them alone and they will swim away. The venomous snakes we very rarely see as they like to hide are Copperheads & Tiber Rattlers. Always look where you put your hands and feet if going off into less congested areas, never dig under rocks or dead wood. Do not pick up or mess with the snakes or other wildlife. It is illegal to kill snakes in the state of Tennessee. You are going into nature so expect to see nature!
