Hi! We are Eddie and Tara! We are the owners of Kayaking Adventures of Tennesse and we thank you for following our winter cleanups! We believe in the protection and preservation of our beautiful areas. We are so blessed to be able to operate on the beautiful Center Hill Lake during the Spring, Summer & Fall months so all winter long we spend as much time as possible giving back by taking care of the entire lake! Center Hill Lake is 64 miles long and has over 400 miles of shoreline, so we have plenty to keep clean! Follow along as we help keep our area (plus more areas!) clean and make a lasting impact!
Please Remember to Leave No Trace while visiting our trails and waterways. Always leave the area you visit better than you found it to help protect and preserve these incredible spots!
We consider this launch to Burgess Falls our home and while we do clean it year-round, we can take extra special care of it in the off season having more time! On 11.2.24 We removed 55.06 pounds of trash from the surrounding area! My most interesting find from this cleanup was 2 socks stuck in the mud followed by a shoe a few steps later! I guess they just gave up and left it all in the mud.
This very popular place to camp and play at the beach has a beautiful view but unfortunately, we find a lot of fishing line and broken glass bottles here. We did a quick cleanup of the main areas and have a plan to return when water levels are brought down a little more so we can get as much as possible the next time around. Stay Tuned! 8.82 pounds of trash removed 11.3.24.
Another popular camping place on CHL, we find similar trash to Ragland Bottom. It usually stays pretty clean but we find lots of swimming goggles here! We found 2 pairs today! We tend to find lots of random clothing items as well, left on the beach and forgotten forever. We will probably swing through this launch again before the end of winter too. 14.02 pounds of trash removed 11.3.24.
We were back at Burgess Falls so we continued to clean as water levels continue to be brought down! We were able to collect another 17.82 pounds while out on the water for some relaxation and making our area a better place! Remember to leave that positive impact wherever you go! 11.10.24
Davies Island is a very popular primitive camping area on Center Hill Lake, but unfortunately it hasn't had a cleaning in a very long time! We were scoping it out to see if we needed to come back and we sure will! We grabbed all we could fit on the kayaks (41.10 pounds of trash) and have plans to come back for much more with friends! 11.16.24
We adore this wonderful park and always have a great time cleaning up here! Our friend Meredith joined us for a hike and trash cleanup for this one! We found a 145 pound hippo play place at the bottom that had come over the waterfall and were able to successfully partially dismantle it and drag it out! 154.34 pounds of trash total today! 11.17.24
We had an amazing day of cleanup with 8 wonderful volunteers! We kayaked across to Davies Island and cleaned two areas with a total of 1,889.32 pounds of trash removed! It was a fun and exciting day on the water doing some real good for mother nature and the beautiful Center Hill Lake! 11.24.24
We made a trip out to Burgess Falls with two lovely people from Louisiana and they helped us clean along the way! As water levels continue to be brought down, more and more trash shows, ready to be recovered. We were especially excited to retrieve a battery we have been trying to get for 2 years! 11.26.24 (133.50 pounds)
We've been wanting to get out in this area of the lake for a while. There was more trash than we could get today on our kayaks, but we made some piles of bigger items to collect on another day and loaded up all of the smaller trash we could find. We ended up with 59.77 pounds of trash today! 12.1.24
