Every year we encourage our kayaking community to help clean up our waterways. The last 3 years have been a huge success with the KAT Challenge! Almost every group participated in it that hit the water with us. Our groups collected tons and TONS of trash, and we've had 1,000's of people participating while on our trips!! Here's to another fantastic season of keeping Center Hill Lake and Burgess Falls Clean!
About the KAT Challenge: You will have an option to carry a bag along with you that we provide and pick up as much trash as you can. The person who collects the most on our trip will get a shiny new KAT Challenge Pin and their picture on our website here on our KAT Challenge Page. All who participate will get a special shout-out on our FB and Instagram pages for being protectors of our beautiful Tennessee waterways!
Thank you to Debra for keeping our waterways clean and for your dedication to ensuring it stays beautiful for many generations to come!! This was Debra's second trip with us and she was ready for the trash challenge today! She looked all over and even got her family involved with helping to keep the area clean! She collected the most trash and came back with the fullest bag at the end of the trip! She was voted the trip winner by group vote! Thank you so much Debra for helping to keep Burgess Falls and Center Hill Lake clean!
Thank you to Mack for keeping our waterways clean and for your dedication to ensuring it stays beautiful for many generations to come!! Mack had a lot of competition today for the KAT Challenge but his stealth way of grabbing trash led him to victory! He quietly collected the entire trip and waltzed into the KAT Challenge group photo with one very full bag of trash! He was named the trip winner by group vote! Amazing job today Mack! Thank you so much for helping to keep Burgess Falls and Center Hill Lake clean!
Thank you to Bradley for keeping our waterways clean and for your dedication to ensuring it stays beautiful for many generations to come!! Bradley did an amazing job looking for trash today! He looked between every rock and crevice today to find any trash that was hanging around. He even found a piece of a wooden paddle! He spent most of his waterfall time looking for trash and taking trash from others. Thank you so much Bradley for being such a great example for others and thank you so much for helping to keep Burgess Falls and Center Hill Lake clean!
Thank you to Bri for keeping our waterways clean and for your dedication to ensuring it stays beautiful for many generations to come!! It was a tight competition today but our (now) two-time KAT Challenge Champion pulled out the win at the end with a ...poopy shirt! She collected trash the entire trip and even got in and out of her kayak to grab things farther on land in some tough places to walk. But as we approached the end, she found a shirt on the side and was cautious picking up, which was when she discovered why this mystery shirt had been left behind. Being the champ she is, she got it into the trash bag and out of our waterway! She was voted the trip winner at the end of the trip by group vote! Thank you so much Bri for helping to keep Burgess Falls and Center Hill Lake clean!
